I’m Good At… Kallen is amazing at martial arts and excels in fighting using most any weapon. Plus she’s a pretty amazing teacher.
The Loved
The number one thing that Kallen holds dear would be her students. She would do most anything for them and if any of her students are in trouble she will do whatever it is she can so as to help them. Going along with her love for her students, Kallen adores the teachers that work at Dark Academy. To her they are just as close as family as her students are children.
Kallen has a strange fascination with weapons and has a vast knowledge of them. This comes mostly from her years of training as a hunter. Peace is another big thing that Kallen enjoys. To her peace is extremely important to keeping things in the academy going smoothly.
Her tastes buds absolutely adore the taste of chocolate chip cookies and red wine. She usually will have a glass of wine somewhere in her desk and a fresh batch of cookies along with them.
The Hated
Kallen doesn’t really dislike many things, but those things that do annoy or irritate her get to her so bad that sometimes she feels like she’s going to rip her hair out. The biggest thing that Kallen dislikes would have to be people who try to harm her school/students. Anyone who poses a threat to Kallen’s school or her students or staff had better be able to run pretty damn fact because this headmistress isn’t about to let you get away with that sort of thing.
Kallen also dislikes rudeness, fighting without a purpose, and stressful occurrences. Kallen believes that all people should be nice to everyone, no matter how bad said person is, and any rudeness will not be tolerated around her. Figthing without a valid purpose is also a thing that Kallen despises. It goes along with her hatred of stressful situations seeing as most pointless fights end up being the biggest stress factors in her life.
The final thing that Kallen dislikes would be anyone who dares to touch her stuff. Everything inside of her room is completely hers and if anyone gets to close to taking something they may very well lose a head… or worse.
The Feared
Headmistress Kusogi fears more things than she can even count. Her biggest fears are the destruction of her school, the harming of her students or staff, and vampires. There is always a little voice in the back of her head that is screaming out her worries about losing her school or having something or someone harm her students or staff. If you look into Kallen’s past, you can understand why she fears vampires and yet she does her best to keep them safe and create peace.
Kallen also fears centipedes. To her, that many legs is just unnatural and disturbing. If she sees one crawling by she will scream and, on severe cases, straight out faint. It amazes some people how such a brave and powerful warrior and woman like herself could be afraid of something like a little bug, but that’s just how it is. Also, Kallen highly fears being shot. She feels that being shot by a gun is the worst way to die.
The Attitude
Headmistress Kallen Kusogi is a very happy, energetic person. She jumps at adventure and is always throwing new obstacles at her students. Anything new and exciting is to her liking and she just loves the variety of the students' characteristics.
Kallen strongly believes that Vampires, Werewolves, and Humans can live together happily and will stand against anyone to prove that. She loves all of the students at her academy and treats them as though they were her own children. If anything ever were to try and harm her academy, Kallen would stand and fight until her last dying breath. She often jokes around about sleeping with male (and sometimes female) students but she says that she would never honestly do that since it would more than likely jeopardize her academy and that's the last thing she wishes for.
Lastly, though the headmaster seems like she is a stupid, over-energetic person, she can become serious when the need is called for. Kallen know that there are times to be fun and happy and then there are times to be calm and serious. Kallen isn’t about to let something stupid like she was being funny be the cause of the harming of her school or students. Her top priority is her students’ safety.
She has a very deep personality and is extremely loyal to anyone she cares for.
The Past
Kallen was born to a middle-class family that was very close-knit. Her twin sister, Karen, was her best friend and the two spent every moment together. Her mother and father were kind and knew everyone in the little town where they lived. Even as a child growing up Kallen longed to be a teacher. She volunteered to teach the younger children at her school when she had free time and at twelve already had a booming day care center. She loved kids and she always told her sister that the children she looked after were like her own little infants.
Disaster struck when she was fifteen, though. A group of vampires were hunting in the surrounding area while werewolves trailed their paths. The two groups brought up a furious fight that occurred in Kallen's town. Kallen held her twin close to her as they watched their mother and father slaughtered before their eyes in the confusion of the fight.
The two sisters escaped their house and ran through the decomposing, dead town that had been their home their entire lives. They were stopped, however, by a male vampire who looked about in his mid-twenties. The twins froze in their steps, staring at the vampire in awe. They were frozen with fear in the cold December climate. The vampire watched their wide eyes and touched their pale skin. Then, without a sound, he grabbed Karen out of Kallen's grasp and pulled her to him. Kallen screamed, falling to the ground and begging the vampire to spare her sister's life and take her own.
The vampire replied by leaning down, throwing Karen to the ground, and leaning in so his mouth was right near Kallen's ear. Then he whispered, "I find you far more appealing alive rather than dead. Your sister is another story. She is weak, you are strong. I will let you live, but I can't promise the same for your sister. I hope to see you again someday little snow princess."
Then he grabbed Karen once more and disappeared in the falling snow. Kallen sat there and heard her sister's far-off screams. She felt dead inside. She had lost everything. Her family, her friends, her home, her sister. She sat in that snowdrift until she was found by a group of hunters. They listened to her story and took her in.
She lived with the hunters for a long time, learning how to protect herself and swearing that she would never let someone else have to go through what she'd gone through.
When she was twenty-three she became a teacher at a large academy in England. It was then, as she saw all of the students and teachers working together, that she got the idea for Dark Academy. It came to her that, to stop such massacres like what happened to her, she had to unite the vampires, werewolves, and human.
So she left the academy and went on to have hers built. At first, she only allowed human students to come, wanting to get the feel of being a headmaster, but eventually she opened the doors to vampires and werewolves also. Vampires, Werewolves, and Humans have been coexisting in her academy for five years now and she couldn't be happier, though she fears the hunters will come and try and ruin the peace. And there are other threats as well such as a vampire falling under lust or a werewolf losing their temper. But Headmistress Kallen Kusogi stands tall in front of such obstacles and laughs in their faces. She still holds hope for her sister's life but she tries not to think about that time.
The Family
Kallen can remember her family with such a vivid recollection that sometimes she wonders if they’re actually standing right beside her, leading her on. Her mother, Anne, was of English blood and was an extremely determined woman. She had come from a very deprived, poor family and thus she knew how to fight and fend for herself. Anne was killed during the attack on Kallen’s town.
Kallen’s father, Takashi, was born in Japan, but traveled from country to country throughout his life because of his father’s military position. He was a very intelligent man who would stand up for all of the things that he believed in. He was extremely outspoken and was extremely playful and carefree when he was with his daughters. He worked as an author and a writer for the local newspaper. Takashi was killed during the attack on Kallen’s town.
Karen, Kallen’s twin sister, was identical to her in looks, though their attitudes varied greatly. Kallen was always more of a leader, quick to catch on, and better at making friends. Karen was more antisocial and would barely talk to anyone besides her twin. When the attack occurred on Kallen’s town, Karen was taken away by a vampire and was never seen again. Kallen has no idea whether her twin is alive or dead, but she is determined to find her.
